Meet Our Owner

Shawn B. also known as the Underground Barber King started cutting hair at a young age. His love for the profession grew immensely. In 2003, Shawn became a licensed barber.

Currently, Shawn is a Master Barber and Active Instructor in Nashville, Tennessee.

He has spent time at the barber school shadowing and training under the instruction of great barber instructors, licensed cosmetologists, and the school’s director.

In 2008, Shawn began the journey to shop ownership. Platinum Fades Barber Shop, LLC opened its doors on September 6th, 2008. Platinum Fades has seen tremendous success and continues to grow in clientele today in the heart of Nashville, TN

Shawn loves the art of barbering and wishes to share its long, rich history with others. He strongly supports small, hardworking local businesses and aims to provide the community with a successful business that is close to home and has that traditional barbershop atmosphere.

It is Shawn’s personal goal to play a part in advancing the dying art of classic barbering and making it available for all ages to enjoy.

The energy is chill, very youthful and children friendly, it's a perfessional setting they're always on time . I've set appointments they're always on point my 16yrs old and 12 year old sons enjoys going to the barbershop. There isn't any unnecessary hanging out of extra people, or people selling stuff. Just healthy conversations.. I wanted to share someone out there looking for for a barbershop that care, and most of all can cut this is it.
